How to pack your TT - for local transport only

1- Have a stylus guard, place it

a)Please note green painted tape
b)Start buy taping floating chasis and sub-chasis parts
c)You will be able to deduce on this LP-12 the same logic for other TT types

3- Do not tear tape but either cut it with scissors or utility knife CAREFULLY

4- Make certain that the tape bonds securely to the surface, at all times and all levels of taping

5- Yet again make certain that the tape bonds to the surface

6-7- Be very very carefull at this junction, 1 small false move and wave bye bye to your cartridge. If your hand are unsteady, skip this step

8- Make certain to keep a eye out on your cartridge when you bond the tape

9- Tape sub-chassis, not once but twice, please also see below picture. This is only for a short shipping trip. Also note my left tumb right next to the sub-chassis, make certain the tape bonds up to this point and from the same point on the other side of the platter

10- Bond the tape one last time

5- Yet again make certain that the tape bonds to the surface

11- Secure your arm

12- At this junction fold the end of the tape for easy access

13- Take note, fold the end of the tape, always, even the second time around

14- Do it again for a second time Sam, and fold the end of the second tape again


15-16- Make certain that your cables do not flow freely thereby damaging either arm, chassis and cartridge... double tape this as well

This is an actual LP-12 end of service preparation to a client of ours, right before it leaves our door. Take note that this is not a procedure that that is recommended if the table is being moved out of town or our country (please read and follow your Linn Lp 12 manual). This packing procedure is for clients coming from our local scene. This way we assure that little movement will disturb our fine calibration.

We do it no other way, and this is why we refused to be rushed in our work for you. Refer to our work time wait scale on our analogue page for approximate wait time. We can only provide approximation pricing on the work we can do for you. Do expect a waiting time.
